ROVING TRANSPORT SYSTEM

In the textile spinning process the productivity of spinning machinery is ever on an increasing trend. This has resulted in increase of roving bobbin sizes (heavier weight) and production of more number of roving bobbins per unit time. The transportation of roving bobbins from Speed Frames to Ring Frames is always an issue which involves usage of trolleys with castor wheels, higher man power huge storage shelves. Now-a-days the modern Ring Frames are becoming longer and have automatic doffing attachment etc., which makes the movement of trolleys even more difficult and chances of costly damages of the doffing attachments becomes inevitable. This situation is further affected by the ever growing shortage of man power in the textile industry.

ALPHA MANUAL

SIEGER Roving Transport System (RTS) - ALFA is the most economical bobbin transport system which has straight tracks on one side or either side of the Ring Frames with bobbin trains moved manually.

SIEGER RTS rail is an extruded aluminium section that carries the trains with the bobbins. The rail is suspended to the ring frame supports or by suitable floor / wall supports depending on the mill layout.

The rail sections are joined and aligned using guided link plate and bolts. Due to extruded open profile the surface finish is excellent, thereby reducing friction and pulling of bobbin train becomes easier.

SIEGER RTS bobbin train is the overhead conveyor to carry the bobbins. The train is made of hard chrome plated carbon steel tube with an end hinge. These hinges are connected with a roller assembly to form a train. The bobbin holders are screwed and secured to the hexagonal nut welded in the square tubes. The length of the tube depends upon the number of bobbins and the pitch. The train has a manual pulling arrangement at both ends for ease of pulling the bobbin train.

There are stoppers provided at both ends of the track to avoid falling down of the bobbin train along with track roller assembly.

As soon as a doff takes place in speed frame the bobbins are fitted to the stationary bobbin holders in the bobbin train so that the operator can pull the train manually in between the Ring frames for executing bobbin change and fitting back the empty bobbin. This avoids trolley movement in between Ring Frame machines.

LOOP SYSTEM

SIEGER Roving Transport System (RTS) – Loop is designed is such a way that the bobbin transport from a particular Speed Frame to a defined set of Ring Frames.

The rail is suspended to the ring frame supports or by suitable floor / wall supports depending on the mill layout. The rail sections are joined and aligned using guided link plate and bolts. Due to extruded open profile the surface finish is excellent, thereby reducing friction of the bobbin train movement.

The bobbin train is driven by a set of drive motor assemblies fitted to the track at intervals depending upon the bobbin train length. The hinges in the train are designed in such a way that the train can travel in curved path.

The Drive assembly consists of a motor coupled to a worm reduction gear box. The output shaft of the gear box drives the drive roller. The train is driven by the frictional contact between the drive roller and an adjustable tensioning roller loaded by a compression spring.

As soon as a doff takes place in speed frame the bobbins are fitted to the stationary bobbin holders in the moving bobbin train so the same travels to the set of Ring Frames for executing bobbin change and fitting back the empty bobbin. This avoids trolley movement completely in the Ring Frame department.

The bobbin train movement can either be on continuous basis or on fixed time interval basis as decided by the user.

RANDOM MANUAL / RANDOM AUTOMATIC

SIEGER Roving Transport System (RTS) - Random Manual / Random Automatic is designed is such a way that the bobbin transport from any Speed Frame to any of the Ring Frames as assigned by the user.

SIEGER RTS rail is an extruded aluminium section that carries the trains with the bobbins. The rail is suspended to the ring frame supports or by suitable floor / wall supports depending on the mill layout. Due to extruded open profile the surface finish is excellent, thereby reducing friction of the bobbin train movement. The rail sections are joined and aligned using guided link plate and bolts. There are diverters provided in all the branch tracks joined to the main track so as to decide the correct route for the bobbin train.

SIEGER RTS bobbin train is the overhead conveyor to carry the bobbins. The train is made of hard chrome plated carbon steel tube with an end hinges. These hinges are connected with a roller assembly to form a train. The bobbin holders are screwed and secured to the hexagonal nut welded in the square tubes. The length of the tube depends upon the number of bobbins and the pitch. The hinges in the train are designed in such a way that the train can travel in both horizontal and vertical bends.

SIEGER RTS has a buffer assembly to store full bobbins and empty bobbins. The number of tracks in the buffer depends upon the number of Ring Frames and number of bobbin changes happening per unit time.

In case of Random Manual System the trains are pulled manually from the specifieds Speed frame to the required ring Frame. The diverters are also operated manually to choose the correct path.

In case of Random Automatic the bobbin train is driven by a set of drive motor assemblies fitted to the track at intervals depending upon the bobbin train length. The Speed frame has “IN”, “OUT” push buttons and if the operator the operator presses the “OUT” button after loading the full bobbins on the bobbin train, the same moves to the buffer and waits for the call from Ring Frame Department. If the Speed Frame operator presses the “IN” button, the corresponding empty tube train from the buffer starts to move towards the speed frame. Similarly the all the Ring Frames are provided with “IN”, “OUT” & “JOG” push buttons. If the Ring Frame operator presses the “IN” buttons the full bobbin train from the buffer / Speed Frame start to move to the Ring Frame. If the ring frame operator presses “OUT” button after changing all the full bobbins the empty bobbin train starts to move to the buffer. If the operator presses “JOG” button the bobbin train moves from one end of the Ring Frame to the other depending upon the time delay set. All these functions are controlled by a PLC in conjunction with a HMI on first come first serve basis. This completely avoids bobbin trolley movement completely in both Speed Frame & Ring Frame departments.

Need For RTS System

  • Ring spinning machines are becoming LONGER – Ring spinning machine with 1824 spindles is around 70 meters. It takes several minutes to carry a bobbin inside the Ring spinning machine.

RTS - Lay Out

Fully automatic, semi auto and manual system configuration is available. Layout adaptable for random and batch loading. Automatic roving bobbin stripper can be integrated to clean the bobbin while being transported from ring frame to speed frame. Train with different configuration with rotating or stationary holders to enhance automation possibilities.

ROVEMASTER - Inline

Fully contained unit with automatic bobbin removal, stripping, opening and re insertion in the line. Variable unwinding speed to suit various material and twist parameters. Can be adopted for a variety of roving transport systems from other makes for different bobbin sizes.

RTS - Rails

The heart of the RTS system is a sturdy aluminium rail. The guide rollers are with angular inclination, which guides and bears the load. The rail is tapered to avoid accumulation of dust and fluff and enhances self cleaning. The rails are of interlocking design which ensures stability of the rails and thereby smooth operation.

RTS - Switches & Diverters

Automatic (or) manual switches with 2/3 way systems. The switches are mounted on sturdy precisely machined aluminium plate. The switches are sturdy for long life operation.

Sturdy track and modular drive arrangements makes transport from different floor level possible. Full bobbin transport with heavy loads is effortlessly transported to different floors.

Rows of parallel buffers are located at vantage points so that material is available at ring frame within the shortest possible time. Dense buffering helps to reduce fluff accumulation. Buffers with automatic diverters ensure different material stored and directed with precision to pre designated ring frames.
